"Starting Point" Al Forster.
Al Forster has an international reputation as an architectural illustrator and is a regular contributor to our gallery. His 'Starting Point' exhibit of watercolors consisted of framed images which examine basic forms using orthographic projection with a simple perspective explanation and rendered architectural examples to give context to the form being explored. The pieces are set on fields of color chosen by the artist and float on a white surround with subtle pencil borders. Al encourages viewers to look carefully to see how design concepts are conceived and then arranged as drawings, understanding the role of perspective and rendering as tools to describe form, detail, color and place.
