"Exits Exist" Solomon.
Bobbie, as she is known here on the northern California coast, is the designer who established the graphic language for The Sea Ranch in the early 1960s, including the original ram's head logo as well as the early building signage and the boldly-colored "supergraphic" elements at The Sea Ranch Lodge and swimclubs. She is an artist, landscape designer, writer and observor of considerable note.
Ms. Stauffacher's works are inquisitive, insightful, descriptive and often humorous--seemingly simple, but graphically strong, sometimes intricate with overlays of observations of a place. Her EXITS EXIST series plays with letter forms. The Eyelands of the Sea Ranch series depicts mythical islands and romantic places. A third series of landscape drawings, Green Architecture, comes from her extensive study of both formal and informal gardens.

Current exhibit: Clay + Play. Previous exhibits: Enduring Design. Maynard Hale Lyndon, Harley Jensen & David Leaf, Carol Bogovich, Al Forster "Blocks", Jesse Wood, Keith Wilson, Timothy Richards, Barbara Stauffacher-Solomon, Tina Beebe and Larry Halprin.
