"ZONE 4" Carol Bogovich.

Carol’s current series of glass explorations, including several “split” wall-mounted pieces, is rooted in the fields of geology and architecture. “When my husband and I recently designed and built a small house at The Sea Ranch, the framing seemed to me to be ‘overdone’. Larry explained that our proximity to the San Andreas Fault placed our project directly into Zone 4, the building code classification of areas with extreme seismic potential. This launched some new thinking for me regarding glasswork.”

Carol Bogovich has been passionately committed to kilnforming for the past 6 years.“I like to think of my experience with forming glass as one of total immersion, focusing completely on the medium with one process leading to another.” Carol’s venture into the world of glass was sparked by a desire to expand her art background in a medium that would allow for colorful and sculptural expression utilizing her experience with ceramics, painting and drawing.
