A pair of Ionic columns, the second order of Greek architecture. The Ionic column--a replica of the columns used in the temple of Athene Nike BC 425--is more slender than the Doric and has spiral projections known as volutes on the capitals. Cast of British gypsum plaster with script identifying each element of the column construction. Each column is 5-1/2" x 9" x 3" deep.
