Palm Springs Life attended Placewares' retail event at Trina Turk's Palm Springs flagship store. The opening event was Saturday, October 9 in time for Fall's popular Modernism Week.
Placewares was invited by Trina Turk to take over the residential store window with a custom display designed by artist Jim Isermann and Kevin Lane of Placewares.
The window display featured 12, 8 feet tall kinetic pendants designed by Jim whose components were made of high-resolution images of our Jim Isermann @ Placeware's plywood products done at 100% scale. The raised window platform designed by Kevin was a super-scale floor vinyl that featured Jim's graphical lockup of the four patterns used in the plywood products.
The end result in the prominent corner windows facing Palm Canyon Drive was full color, full pattern and lots of kinetic movement. Upon entering the store, the experience becomes multi-dimensional with the pendants hanging against a graphical, black and white floor.
