Professor Oiva Toikka’s Kastehelmi, Finnish for “dewdrop,” evolved from a technical challenge when Toikka started using glass droplets to cover joint marks left on the surface of pressed glass pieces. The result was a popular range of glassware decorated with beads of glass that glisten like dewdrops in the morning sun.
In this piece, we see two elements, water, and fire, combined. Beautiful reflections are created around the votive when there is a light inside. It is also handy as a small vessel for nuts, salt or any other creative use that you can find.
Available in a fresh range of other colors inspired by nature that highlights Iittala's colored glass expertise.
