First Use Preparation and Seasoning
- Firmly wash the utensil inside and outside using a brush or sponge with hot water and soap. Allow to air dry.
- Grind a small portion of raw white rice and coarse salt to a fine dust. Do it by rotating the pestle into the mortar. Seek to reach all the interior surface of the mortar so that the stone's pores are covered.
- Wash again using only water and air dry*.
*If the milling contains stone waste, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you achieve the expected result.
Maintenance, Washing, and Storage.
Always wash using hot water and brush only. Avoid using soap and detergents. Dry with a paper towel before storing.
