    Long-lasting, durable sailcloth

    Our Japanese waisted apron has been the traditional apron of Japanese craftsmen for well over 200 years. Made from a cotton blend sailcloth and woven on vintage looms, each apron is made from strong and long-lasting sailcloth canvas that is hand-sewn and hand-dyed by craftspeople using century-old techniques.

    Features

    Design features of this traditional apron include the fringed bottom, densely woven waistband, and handy side pockets. Unisex and one size fits most.

    Origin Story

    Dates back over 600 years to the 15th century when fishermen cut aprons of old sailcloth to tie around the waist.
